The 19th edition of the world famous Bercy Supercross featured three days of intense
racing. And when it was all over David Vuillemin emerged as the 'King of Bercy', with
Brock Sellards crowned 'Prince of Bercy' for 2001!
250 class: For the second year in a row David Vuillemin won every race he entered. It
is also his third 'King of Bercy' title in a row. Jeremy McGrath finished runner-up to
David with fourth overall the first night, and then second the following two nights. (He
had second in the bag Friday night, but had a little run in with Chad Reed). Speaking of
Chad Reed, the hot Aussie who will be coming to America for 2002 had a little set back on
the final day of racing. He fell, was not able to continue, and suffered a possible broken
jaw. Third overall went to Nick Wey.
125 class: Brock Sellards used consistency over three nights (second on Friday, third on
both Saturday & Sunday) to take the crown 'Prince of Bercy this year. Ivan Tedesco
& Rodrig Thain were both in the hunt for the 125 title. Tedesco was not up to par
Friday night, but came back to win the final two nights, finishing second overall. Thain
dominated the first night, but had problems on the second night, finishing third overall.
For the 250 class, they ran two main events each night, for a total of six motos counting
towards 'King of Bercy'. The 125 class ran three main events each night, for a total of
nine motos counting towards 'Prince of Bercy'.
